Free Music PR & Social Media Panel at Lestats on Oct. 27 - Moderated by Bart Mendoza
San Diego Music Thing presents a music business education panel
supported by the San Diego Music Foundation. These music education
series are planned to help the community become more knowledgeable in
areas of the music business critical to any artists career. Panelists
will gather to give their feedback about how to get better at Social
Media as a promotional tool and how to properly reach out to media or
get a publicity plan in place for your event, tour, and or single/album
release.
Panelists include George Varga (San Diego Union-Tribune pop music critic) and Ilka Pardinas, a publicity professional based in Los Angeles who designs and implements campaigns for clients in music, art, film, literature, visual arts and business, architecture and design. Marissa Mortati is an owner and social media manager for The Redwoods, an independent Record Label and Collective. Soda Bar booker Cory Stier also drums for Cult and Mrs. Magician. Moderated by Bart Mendoza, a music journalist who has written for numerous local and international publications, starting with KICKS Magazine in the late 1970s, going on to pen stories for publications such as the San Diego Union Tribune, Axcess Magazine, Shindig, and more.
