Carlsbad, Calif. –  The ninth edition of Sounds Like San Diego takes place at the Museum of Making Music on November 2. Featuring today’s artists performing hits made famous by past San Diego based hitmakers 1955- today, the all ages event is hosted by music historian Bart Mendoza. Sounds Like San Diego mixes details about the tunes and artists, with terrific renditions of songs that might include tunes by The Cascades, Iron Butterfly, Jim Croce, Jack Tempchin, David Gates, Ratt, The Monroes, The Beat Farmers, Stephen Bishop, Jason Mraz, Blink 182, Jewel and more -

Themes:
·         A Tribute to Mundell Lowe – music from throughout the legendary guitarists career
·         Soundtracks – classic songs heard on TV and the Movies
·         Top 40 – hit tunes from the charts

·         Jerry Raney – music icon from such bands as The Beat Farmers, Glory and the Roosters

Free Music PR & Social Media Panel at Lestats on Oct. 27 - Moderated by Bart Mendoza

San Diego Music Thing presents a music business education panel supported by the San Diego Music Foundation. These music education series are planned to help the community become more knowledgeable in areas of the music business critical to any artists career. Panelists will gather to give their feedback about how to get better at Social Media as a promotional tool and how to properly reach out to media or get a publicity plan in place for your event, tour, and or single/album release.
Panelists include George Varga (San Diego Union-Tribune pop music critic) and Ilka Pardinas, a publicity professional based in Los Angeles who designs and implements campaigns for clients in music, art, film, literature, visual arts and business, architecture and design. Marissa Mortati is an owner and social media manager for The Redwoods, an independent Record Label and Collective. Soda Bar booker Cory Stier also drums for Cult and Mrs. Magician. Moderated by Bart Mendoza, a music journalist who has written for numerous local and international publications, starting with KICKS Magazine in the late 1970s, going on to pen stories for publications such as the San Diego Union Tribune, Axcess Magazine, Shindig, and more.
