On February 27 Bart Mendoza stopped in at Johnny Vernazza's Birthday Party held at Rock and Roll San Diego. Johnny V is best known for his time in the Elvin Bishop Group, including 1976 hit, "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," also playing with the likes of Van Morrison, Jerry Garcia, The Marshall Tucker Band, and coming up, True Stories!

Blitz Brothers April 4 at the Belly Up Tavern

Bart Mendoza will introduce legendary San Diego rock trio, The Blitz Brothers, before their concert at the Belly Up Tavern on April 4. The band's guitarist, Richard Livoni, produced all The Shambles early work, including the Clouds All Day album, as well as the drum tracks on Manual Scan's latest EP, Shooting Stars. The Blitz Brothers will be opening for guitarist Oranthi.

Manual Scan Scooter Accident 1987

Manual Scan made the San Diego Union Tribune's "Public Eye" column on April 30, 1987, regarding Bart Mendoza's scooter accident and a scheduled show with the Fleshtones at San Diego State University. The blurb was included in a news service used by morning DJ's nationwide that morning.

Match Game!

A special Mardi Gras Fundraiser was held on February 10 at Ascension Catholic Church, in Tierrasanta / San Diego. Part of the night's entertainment included a live version of the 1970's TV game show favorite, Match Game. Bart Mendoza was a guest panelist alongside Lon Sheriff, Laura Cain, Kimberly King, Josh Board and Bob Sandler, with host Rich Singley.
