True Stories at International Pop Overthrow July 9 / Black Cat Bar

True Stories will perform at International Pop Overthrow on July 9at the Black Cat Bar. The band will feature an all-star lineup including Bart Mendoza, Mark DeCerbo, Scott Mathiasen, Greg Smith, Alicia Previn and Billy Tisch. meanwhile, the lineup features Hector Penalosa, Tamar Berk, Swive, Night Swims and Casino Spanish Eyes.

Music's Future Band - Don't Fear The Reaper

"Pacific Records is proud to announce a new version of rock classic “Don’t Fear The Reaper,” the first in a series of singles produced by Sppike Mike Muellenberg and executive produced by label CEO, Brian Witkin, under the Music’s Future banner, as a fundraiser for the San Diego Music Foundation’s Guitars In School Program. The collaborative effort includes Mike Watt (Minutemen / firehose / The Stooges), Mike Reiter (27 Various / The Dig), Doug Walker (The Dwarves / The Spice Pistols), Bart Mendoza (Manual Scan / The Shambles), Anna Zinova (Pinkeye), Nick Aguilar (Slaughterhouse), Robbie Allen and Will Lerner (Shake Before Us / Strawberry Moons), with studio production by Jeff Berkley."

Ocean Beach Street Fair Program / June 25

Bart Mendoza has penned the program for the 42nd Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair, taking place June 25, including an overview of the event, plus write-ups on the Chili Cook-Off, the Kids Zone, parking, Artists Alley, a music overview and more. Also spotlights on the performers including Sandollar, The Dave Gilbert Band, The Carlos Rock Experience and Falling Doves. True Stories - Here Comes the Summer 2022

SNAP! Records (Madrid, Spain) has released a new compilation, Here Comes the Summer 2022, highlighting upcoming releases coming soon from the label. FUNLP-052, title tba, will be a collection of True Stories rarities and outtakes, highlighted here by the original version of "Can't Seem To Make You Mine," which featured multiple San Diego Music Award winner, Ed Kornhauser on Hammond organ.
