Bart Mendoza will be the host of the Flood Aid Fundraiser on July 28. Funds raised go to help victims of the torrential rains earlier this year. Bart Mendoza is working on a new batch of acoustic demos at Pacific Records. On June 18 he recorded a version of The Rutles song, "Between Us," plus work on new originals. Other demos in recent months include covers of the Cardiac Kidz ("Find Yourself A Way"), Wire ("Outdoor Miner"), Little Murders ("We Should Be Home By Now"), as well as originals "Glass" and "You're Gonna Miss Me."
Bart Mendoza has been a judge at the San Diego County Fair numerous times over the years, for both "Battle of the Bands" and "Best Singer-Songwriter" competitions. In June 2015, Tolan Shaw and Lol Tolhurst (The Cure) were also judges at the annual "Best Singer-Songwriter" contest.
From Strange Stage Stories: "On October 11, 2014 True Stories (Bart Mendoza and David Fleminger) were amongst the musical guests at Beatles Fest in Los Angeles. The outdoor stage was adjacent to the hotels car drop off point. Towards the end of the set, Wings drummer Denny Seiwell was waiting for his vehicle and in the meantime added a bit of street percussion to the proceedings before heading off. Photographer Robbie Taylor captured the moment."
