It was announced on FM94.9 that Manual Scan was back in the studio for the first time in 25 years, with Alan Sanderson producing (The Rolling Stones / Weezer / Elvis Costello) on Dec. 23 for a special FM94.9 "Pyles Sessions" broadcast in January 2010.

One of San Diego’s greatest holiday traditions, this annual airing of Rolling Stones seventies/eighties classic is still the best way to top off Christmas Eve. Exile on Kettner Blvd. takes place on December 24, 9 pm-ish, at The Casbah. This year’s line up includes an all-star band: Mario Escovedo (vocals), Joe Camacho, George Vidardi, Joey Guevara, Romy Kaye, Rick Wilkins, Jonny Viau, & Brian Cantrell. Mid-set the band changes gears to sixties Stones classics, with a change of musicians backing Escovedo, including Morgan Smith and Bart Mendoza on lead and rhythm guitar respectively. Special guests for the night include Steve Poltz and El Vez, so this will be quite a night. Free
