On January 28 Manual Scan was part of "The Last Waltz," a special final concert from singer Gary Heffern, best known for his work with legendary San Diego combo, The Penetrators. Heffern was backed by a true all star group that included Ray Brandes (The Tell Tale Hearts, The Shambles) Cindy Lee Berryhill, David Doyle (The Unknowns), David Fleminger (Alvino & The Dwells, Manual Scan), Victor Penalosa (The Phantoms, The Flamin Groovies) and Kevin Ring (Manual Scan). The night also included Manual Scan, The Dils and The Executives for a great night of mod/punk/rock 'n' roll. The night featured the five man version of the band with original members Bart Mendoza, Kevin Ring, David Fleminger joined by Didier Saurez, who drummed for the band in the late 1980's and new keyboardist Josh Weinstein. Of note this time out was the unplanned, post set, first time live version of The Shambles song "Change," with Kevin Ring on vocals. Here's what Manual Scan played:
I Can’t Don’t Want To Faster /
Nothing Can Be Everything
/
Fire /
American Way
New Difference /
For Those
Like Wow Wipeout /
She Said It’s Late
In Your Arms /
A Short Spiral /
I Can’t Let Go
Nothing You Can Do /
She’s So Fine /
Innocence Becomes You
Come See Me
Plan Of Action
