For Christmas 2003 Bart Mendoza put together a special 59 track, two disc CD-R set, given to band members and a few friends. 12 copies of "The Day That Didn't Exist" were made, collecting lo-fi boom box recordings, 4 track demos, radio sessions, acoustic home tapes and more. While many of the recordings are very lo-fi, there are a number of unique covers, otherwise unavailable originals and live tracks, with songs from both The Shambles and Manual Scan. Interesting tracks include:
*Demos by Kevin Ring & Ray Brandes
*A Bart Mendoza & Ray Brandes original song, "Fascination"
*A cover of the Austin Powers track "BBC" with drummer Joel Valder on vocals
*Manual Scan performing a cover of "Tell Her No" in 1982 at the Kings Road Cafe
In addition to the above mentioned musicians, others include Mark Zadarnowski, David Klowden, Victor Penalosa, David Fleminger, John Chilson and more. Disc 1 is banded. The compilation was produced by Bart Mendoza and Mike Kamoo at Earthling Studios. Bart Mendoza also sequenced the discs, with Mike Kamoo also engineering and mastering.
