While True Stories was advertised as performing at this year's International Pop Overthrow San Diego at the Black Cat Bar (August 15), instead, Bart Mendoza debuted a new band, The Slightly Jaded. The band includes Mendoza (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Be Reilly (lead guitar), Matt Mielczarek (bass), Simon Leader (drums) and Billy Tisch (keyboards, harmonica, flute), with Donna Daly sitting in on a cover of the Velvet Undergrounds song "Femme Fatale."
